Abhishek Bachchan Expresses Interest in 'Kajra Re' 2.0
Abhishek Bachchan recently discussed the possibility of a 'Kajra Re' 2.0 version, recalling his fond memories of filming the original 2005 track from Bunty Aur Babli.
Abhishek Bachchan has expressed interest in returning to the song 'Kajra Re' nearly two decades after its release. Speaking with the BBC Asian Network, the actor said he would love to be part of a 2.0 version, though he joked that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his father, Amitabh Bachchan, would need to be convinced.
Reflecting on the original track from Bunty Aur Babli, Abhishek called the shoot one of the most enjoyable experiences of his career, describing the set as a celebration. He also recalled that his birthday was celebrated while they were filming.
The actor shared details about how director Shaad Ali captured candid moments by playing the song for hours and turning the set into an impromptu dance party, with footage of the cast having fun later added to the final song.
Released in 2005, Bunty Aur Babli starred Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji as con artists, with Amitabh Bachchan playing a police officer. 'Kajra Re' featured Abhishek, Aishwarya, and Amitabh together. The song was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, sung by Alisha Chinai, Shankar Mahadevan, and Javed Ali, and choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.
