Director Abhishek Pathak talks about the success of Drishyam 2, expectations for the upcoming final installment Drishyam The Conclusion, and his vision for the massy thriller.
Director, writer, and producer Abhishek Pathak discussed the box office success of Drishyam 2 and shared insights into the upcoming final part of the franchise, Drishyam The Conclusion, which releases on October 2.
Reflecting on Drishyam 2, which was released while the theatrical business was recovering from COVID-19 lockdowns, Pathak recalled predicting with his father, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, that the film would cross the Rs. 200 crore mark. The film ultimately opened at Rs. 15.38 crores and collected Rs. 240.54 crores in its lifetime.
Regarding trade expectations of a Rs. 50 crore opening for Drishyam The Conclusion, Pathak stated, “I don’t want to hope for anything. I have numbers in my head and I’ll just keep them to myself. I just hope that people give us a lot more love because it’s the final part of the franchise.”
Pathak expressed his desire for audiences to experience the film in theaters, aiming to create a mass-appealing thriller where single screens experience cheering and applause. He also noted that the screen count for Drishyam The Conclusion is planned to be one of the biggest for Ajay Devgn.
Additionally, the makers of Drishyam The Conclusion unveiled the teaser for the song 'Muskura Do', sung by Lucky Ali.
