Ajay Devgn and Alok Jain discuss Drishyam The Conclusion at FICCI Frames 2026, sharing insights on the film, characters, and the conclusion of the franchise.

During day 2 of FICCI Frames 2026, actor Ajay Devgn and JioStar Head of Hindi & English Entertainment Business (Streaming, TV and Studios) Alok Jain discussed their upcoming film, Drishyam The Conclusion.

When asked about his feelings regarding the release in two days, Ajay Devgn stated, “We are keeping fingers crossed. You’ll have to wait and watch to find out if Vijay Salgaonkar can beat them or they beat Vijay Salgaonkar. The series also concludes with this film because it is very difficult to write a film like Drishyam. We want to end it on a high. We all felt that the way the script has shaped up and the film has shaped up, I think we should put a stop right now.”

Devgn also shared his personal view after watching the film, saying, “I saw the film yesterday. My personal opinion is that it beats Drishyam 2 (2022). So, fingers crossed!”

Discussing sequels, Devgn remarked that sequels do not work on their own, but characters do. He noted that characters like Vijay Salgaonkar, Bajirao Singham, or Gopal stay with the audience, and sequels should only be made when audiences invest in the characters rather than simply because a great film was made.

Alok Jain highlighted the uniqueness of the Drishyam franchise, comparing it to the Marvel series where characters move between movies, whereas Drishyam features a linear story moving forward with the same character.

Devgn added that the film continues directly from where the previous part ended, noting, “In our country, I don’t remember any sequel where the film has continued from where it has ended. So, if you have not seen part 2, you won’t understand part 3. Though we have shown a prologue, you might still miss something.”
