Akshay Kumar Shares Advice at the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025
At the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism, actor Akshay Kumar offered practical advice for aspiring actors while speaking alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. Kumar addressed the industry issue of restrictive three-film contracts that bind newcomers early in their careers.
“I want to say just one thing to all the newcomers and the upcoming newcomers,” Kumar stated, advising them never to sign a three-film deal with any producer. He pointed to Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which premiered on Netflix in September 2025, noting that the series depicts a debutant trapped in such contract complications.
Kumar also added a light-hearted remark, telling the audience to give debutants freedom and let them run away. Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar were both seen smiling at the advice.
Reflecting on Industry Longevity and Work
Reflecting on his own journey, Kumar shared a grounded perspective on longevity in the film industry, stating that work attracts money and no work is big or small. He noted that he sometimes takes on smaller roles if he likes a film's story.
Ending his speech, Kumar emphasized that discipline, humility, and the choice of work sustain an actor's career.
