Anil Kapoor Shares How Daughter Sonam Bought Her First Flat With Her Own Savings

Actor Anil Kapoor recently shared a personal anecdote about his daughter, Sonam Kapoor, during an appearance on India Ke Top 1% – The Anil Kapoor Show. While talking with guest Rupali Ganguly about women owning their own homes and financial independence, Anil recalled how Sonam purchased a flat using her own earnings early in her career.

According to Anil, Sonam returned after studying in Singapore and became an assistant to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who later gave her an acting break. She gradually saved money from her earnings to buy her own flat without requiring financial assistance from him.

Sonam made her acting debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Bhansali’s Saawariya, released in 2007, and previously worked as an assistant director on Bhansali’s Black.

The episode featuring Rupali Ganguly is scheduled to air this weekend on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
