Anushka Sen is taking another step toward an international audience with Jeju Olle, her Korean cinema debut, set to premiere in North America at the 27th Newport Beach Film Festival on October 21. The film brings together Indian and Korean talent in a romance that explores personal loss, unexpected connections, and the possibility of starting over.

With a social media following of nearly 40 million across platforms, Anushka has built an international presence beyond her work in Indian entertainment. Her latest project places her in a Korean production that combines different languages and cultural experiences as Indian performers explore opportunities in international cinema.

Speaking about the film’s North American premiere, Anushka stated, “Being here in the US for Jeju Olle’s North American premiere is a special feeling. The film brings India and Korea together through a story that now gets to reach audiences across North America. I believe Indian talent belongs on the world stage, and I want to be part of a generation that takes our stories far beyond borders.”

Directed by Jin Kwang-Gyo, Jeju Olle follows Alisha, an Indian star played by Anushka, who travels to Jeju Island after experiencing a personal loss. There, she encounters Sun-woo, portrayed by Korean actor Kang Hyung-Suk, a former K-pop idol dealing with disappointments of his own. As the two navigate their individual struggles, their relationship develops through music and shared experiences.

Set against the landscape of Jeju Island, the film explores themes of healing, new beginnings, and human connection. It moves between Korean, Hindi, and English, reflecting the cultural backgrounds of its characters while telling a story centered on emotions that transcend language.

The film’s festival premiere marks an important step in its international journey. Distribution discussions are also underway in 21 countries, though further details about prospective releases have not been announced.

Additionally, Anushka Sen has been named the Indian global ambassador for the Newport Beach Film Festival 2026.
