Asia Argento's Past Cannes Speech About Harvey Weinstein Resurfaces Online
Asia Argento's chilling 2018 Cannes Film Festival speech targeting Harvey Weinstein is gaining renewed attention online following Weinstein's sentencing.
Asia Argento, an Italian actress and filmmaker and daughter of Dario Argento, has returned to the spotlight as her past speech at the Cannes Film Festival circulates online. Argento previously appeared in projects such as XXX, Land of the Dead, and Marie Antoinette.
As one of the first and most prominent women to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, Argento claimed that the producer raped her in 1997 when she was 21 years old. During her 2018 speech at the Cannes Film Festival, she recalled that the festival was the location of the incident and stated that Weinstein would never be welcomed back.
