Bigg Boss 20: Yung DSA’s Brother Responds to Accent and Communication Debate
Yung DSA’s brother Pranay has defended the Bigg Boss 20 contestant's communication style following online discussions and comments from host Salman Khan and Gauahar Khan.
Yung DSA's Brother Addresses Accent Debate
Bigg Boss 20 contestant Yung DSA recently became the center of an online conversation regarding his accent and manner of speaking. The discussion grew after a Weekend Ka Vaar episode where host Salman Khan commented on the rapper's behavior and gameplay. Following the episode, old interview clips of Yung circulating on social media led users to compare his communication style outside the show with how he speaks inside the house.
Former Bigg Boss contestant Gauahar Khan also weighed in after a video went viral, questioning whether Yung's personality and tonality inside the house are natural or if he is adopting slang and mannerisms for the show.
Amid these discussions, Yung’s brother, Pranay, shared a statement on Instagram to explain the rapper's different communication styles in professional and personal settings. Pranay stated that changing how one communicates depending on the setting does not mean a person is being inauthentic.
“Being professional doesn’t mean being fake. YUNG is educated and smart enough to understand kidhar, kaise aur kis tone mein baat karni hai. In interviews, panels and professional spaces, he speaks accordingly—and he is fluent in both Hindi and English. Inside Bigg Boss, he’s showing his raw, core self his slang, tonality, hustle, hood-life experiences and the environment he comes from. Go to Pune and you’ll find the same slang and tonality even among younger kids,” Pranay said.
Pranay added that Yung does not need to copy anyone, describing him as self-content, raw, and real. He noted that both versions of Yung are real and that knowing how to read the room is convenient, not fake.
Salman Khan's Feedback on Weekend Ka Vaar
During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan addressed Yung and told him that he appeared to be a misfit within his current group, suggesting the association could affect his individual game.
Yung acknowledged the feedback, responding, “It was a mistake bhai, aage se nahi hoga,” indicating he would not repeat it.
Social media discussions regarding Yung's accent have also included comparisons between his communication style and former Bigg Boss winner MC Stan. Additionally, Salman Khan previously schooled Yung for using femininity as a diss against Aman Gandhi.
