Dia Mirza Shares Seven Simple Ways to Live More Sustainably

Dia Mirza has frequently advocated for a cleaner tomorrow and discussed ways to achieve sustainability. Recently, the actress presented a unique perspective to achieve sustainability through practices that are not overtly complicated and can be done daily.

Her seven ways to live more sustainably include:

• Form a connection with nature: Spend time outdoors, plant a tree and watch it grow, nurture seedlings, walk on the grass, or work with soil.
• Refuse single-use plastics: Find ways to recycle unavoidable plastic entering your home using doorstep vendors and pollution-solving inventions.
• Conserve energy: Turn off main switches for unused appliances and devices. Keep the air conditioner at 24 degrees or avoid it as much as possible by keeping windows open for breezy air.
• Manage waste: Segregate and manage waste at home, at work, or wherever you have administrative or housekeeping access.
• Upgrade lighting and energy: Switch from CFL bulbs to LED bulbs, which last longer, cost less, and reduce energy consumption. Switch to clean energy providers if available.
• Support organisations: Support organisations working toward the protection of the environment and wildlife.
• Engage with others: Engage with policy-makers, government, civic bodies, neighbors, friends, and children to protect the environment. Question unauthorized tree cutting, photograph it, upload it to the BMC site, and record your protest.

Dia Mirza recognizes the urgent need to safeguard the ecosystem and contributes toward keeping it protected by offering these ways for citizens to participate.
