Fatima Sana Shaikh discusses why actors sometimes compromise on roles due to financial needs, and highlights the lack of layered characters for women in the industry.
Financial Realities and Compromises
Fatima Sana Shaikh has discussed the realities actors face when choosing projects, noting that financial responsibilities and limited opportunities can make it difficult to wait for desired roles. Explaining that actors may not come from wealthy backgrounds, she stated that performers often have to choose the best available opportunity at a given time.
Fatima noted that an actor's options depend on timing and the performance of their recent work. She explained that while performers often want to explore unconventional roles, they cannot always afford to wait for the ideal opportunity because they are not the producers and need the money.
Challenges for Female Actors
The actor also discussed the availability of substantial roles for women, stating that female actors continue to receive fewer layered characters compared to men. She pointed out that when female characters display morally complicated traits, they are often placed into familiar stereotypes such as a vixen or a chudail, expressing hope that this will change.
Hunkkaar: The Roar
