Feminist Manifesto Play Explores Women's Struggles and Knowledge

Feminist Manifesto is a play based on the ideas of Nigerian novelist and feminist thinker Chi Manda Ngozi Adichie’s Dear Ijeawale, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions. The production follows the fictional journey of a girl and her mother to a museum of memories inscribed with stories of women's struggles.

The play is directed by Abhimanyu Vinayakumar, a theatre practitioner who received fellowships from the Ministry of Culture and the University Grants Commission, and has directed plays featured in festivals such as the Bharat Rang Mahotsav and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala.

Feminist Manifesto is presented by Janabheri, a cultural organization established in 2004 that promotes traditional forms and contemporary theatre practices, and launched the Janabheri National Theatre Festival in 2013.
