Geeta Agarwal Sharma Discusses Yeh Prem Mol Liya and Changing Roles for Women in Bollywood

Geeta Agarwal Sharma is discussing her involvement in the upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in the lead roles.

Reflecting on the project, Sharma noted that the film features a different concept and brings a new subject to the screen. She also highlighted a positive shift in Bollywood writing, stating that actors in her age group are now receiving strong roles and distinct identities rather than simply playing someone's wife or mother without an independent personality.

According to Sharma, this evolution in storytelling is driven by changing cinema-going habits. With more women buying tickets, gaining economic independence, and visiting cinemas, scripts are increasingly reflecting female points of view with greater depth and individuality, moving away from stories written predominantly from a male perspective.

Sharma's recent film and television credits include 12th Fail (2023), Laapataa Ladies (2024), Fighter (2024), Saiyaara (2024), Satluj (2026), and Ohh My Dog (2026).
