GV Prakash Kumar Joins Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana as a Singer for Yash's Character Ravana

Composer, singer, and actor GV Prakash Kumar has revealed that he lent his voice to Yash’s character, Ravana, in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana.

In a conversation regarding his involvement, GV Prakash shared that the opportunity came as a surprise. Shortly after returning from his first visit to Ayodhya—where he launched 'Awadhiya Ke Raja', a song from his Hindi film Nayyi Navelli starring Yami Gautam—he received an unexpected phone call from his mentor, AR Rahman, inviting him to come and sing.

Recalling the experience, GV Prakash described it as surreal, noting that he was called specifically as a vocalist to be part of the epic project. Reflecting on the opportunity, he stated that being associated with the film's world was a significant experience for him.

During the conversation, GV Prakash also discussed his approach to film composition, which is guided by genre, story, script, and the filmmaker's vision. His past Hindi cinema projects include Gangs of Wasseypur, Sarfira, and Nayyi Navelli. He also expressed admiration for composer Hans Zimmer.

Meanwhile, the second trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 was unveiled in Bengaluru on October 15. The promo features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and glimpses of Jatayu.
