Husne Shabnam Discusses Her Acting Journey, Dialect Coaching for Lust Stories 3 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Actor and dialect coach Husne Shabnam has opened up about her career following the release of Lust Stories 3. In the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed final segment of the project, Husne plays one of the students interacting with Aditi Rao Hydari’s character.

Reflecting on her journey, Husne shared how she transitioned from doing theatre and teaching the Bengali language in Kolkata to becoming a dialect coach in Mumbai. After connecting with the dialect coach company Strictly Speaking, she bagged her first project in Mumbai, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), where she coached Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt, and Namit Das.

Husne recalled being petrified on her first day coaching Shabana Azmi, but noted that Azmi was very humble and welcoming. She also praised Alia Bhatt, describing her as a superstar and a sweetheart who was collaborative during their work together. Husne even landed an unscripted cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani after Shabana Azmi mentioned to director Karan Johar that Husne is an actor.

Alongside her coaching work, Husne has expanded her acting resume. She appeared in Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper—landing the role after a sudden haircut changed her look—and served as both an actor and dialect coach on Karisma Kapoor’s web series Brown, where she played a rockstar.
