Jackie Chan Faces New Death Hoax Online

The internet is currently asking whether Jackie Chan is dead after a bizarre death hoax surfaced in September 2026. A social media post featuring a black-and-white picture of the legendary Hong Kong martial arts actor, styled as an obituary with the text "1954-2026" and the words "he passed away," circulated on X (formerly Twitter).

The post gained millions of views and numerous reposts, though a quick fact-check debunked the contents as fake. This recent incident is one of many death hoaxes the actor has faced since reaching middle age, having previously shut down similar rumors with his signature wit and humour.

Known for his healthy and disciplined lifestyle, the 72-year-old actor—who starred in The Karate Kid—previously faced a death hoax in 2013 when a fake "R.I.P. Jackie Chan" page was created on Facebook.
