Kaal-Roopam Explores Transmigration of Souls and Eternal Motherhood in Hindi Theatre
Kaal-Roopam is a play based on real events in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, in 1985, exploring the transmigration of souls and immortal motherhood. Written by Kuldeep Kunal and directed by Kashish Devgan, the production is presented by Chandigarh University.
Kaal-Roopam is a profound and mysterious story based on real events that took place in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh in 1985. The play portrays the concept of the transmigration of souls and presents a narrative of an extraordinary motherly love and the unique experience of motherhood.
The protagonist, Sumitra Singh, is an ordinary woman declared dead by doctors. Afterward, the soul of a stranger named Shiva Tripathi enters Sumitra's body. Shiva had previously lived in the same district and lost her life in a tragic accident. The play explores how motherhood is an eternal, spiritual bond that transcends the physical world, death, and time as Shiva's soul strives to reach her children.
