Kanika Mann’s Team Defends Her Against “Jealous” Tag on Bigg Boss 20

Kanika Mann has faced online criticism following the latest Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode after some viewers interpreted her reaction to guests praising fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer as jealousy. Now, Kanika’s team has responded to defend her decision to openly express her opinion inside the house.

During the episode, Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana entered the house to promote their upcoming film Udta Teer. Sara revealed that a best friend of hers is a fan of Qazi and voted for him during his earlier appearance on Fame Gurukul. Sara then asked Qazi to perform “Afghan Jalebi,” and Ayushmann also praised Qazi's work.

Kanika reacted with expressions that some viewers viewed as disapproval or mockery. When Sara asked why she did not appear happy, Kanika pointed out the connection between Sara's friend and Qazi, and questioned why everyone was praising him. This led to online criticism labelling Kanika as jealous.

In response, Kanika’s team shared a statement on Instagram Stories defending her right to express genuine opinions on a reality show. The team stated, “When Kanika straight-up puts her points across, guest ho ya host ke saamne, toh suddenly she's being called jealous,” arguing that outspoken behaviour in past contestants was usually appreciated.

The statement added, “If she's speaking up, taking a stand and putting her honest opinions across, why is everyone suddenly so bothered?” The post concluded by suggesting viewers should expect more outspoken behaviour from Kanika as the season continues.

Kanika entered Bigg Boss 20 as an initial contestant with the "Puppet Master" power, which she used early against Qazi by criticising his conversational style. Throughout her journey, she has been involved in multiple disagreements, including clashes over house rules, an early disagreement with captain Yung DSA, and a confrontation with Qazi over a "lollipop" comment.
