Katrina Kaif Addresses Online Criticism Amid Postpartum Body-Shaming

Katrina Kaif addresses online criticism and self-acceptance following social media comments regarding her appearance after pregnancy.

Katrina Kaif has seemingly addressed the online criticism she faced following her public appearance at the Ambani Ganpati celebrations alongside her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal. Social media users commented on her physical appearance following the birth of their son, Vihaan Kaushal, in November last year. The incident highlighted the body-shaming women often face after pregnancy.

During an event in London on October 8 to celebrate the first anniversary of Kay Beauty's launch in the UK, Katrina spoke about handling criticism and the importance of not letting online opinions affect self-worth or decisions. Although she did not directly mention the recent trolling, her comments addressed the conversations surrounding her appearance.

Personally, for me, every time I face critique or comments, if I let that dictate my actions... I would have been paralysed with fear unable to move ahead in my life or in any sphere of life. There are times when the world is going to celebrate you, and other times you have to really be your own biggest cheerleader.

Katrina also discussed self-acceptance and remaining comfortable with oneself, noting that confidence can shift depending on circumstances and life phases. She acknowledged periods of uncertainty and self-doubt, emphasizing the importance of self-acceptance while working toward personal growth.

Her remarks follow comments from Salman Khan, who defended her against online trolls during the Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode. Salman questioned the criticism directed at Katrina regarding her weight and appearance following motherhood, pointing out that postpartum weight gain is normal. He stated that she should be allowed to spend time with her family without unnecessary scrutiny and removed his shirt on television to highlight how people judge others based on physical appearance.
