Kumar Sanu Gets Emotional Over Alka Yagnik's Health on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa recently featured an episode celebrating Kumar Sanu's 69th birthday with a musical tribute to the 1990s. During the episode, contestant Gitashree Chowdhury performed 'Gawah Hai Chand Taare', a song originally sung by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik.

The performance prompted Kumar Sanu to reflect on his musical association with Alka Yagnik, noting that they have recorded more than 500 duets together. He became emotional while discussing her current recovery from a rare sensorineural hearing loss condition.

Sharing his thoughts on her health, Kumar Sanu stated, “As many of you know, Alka ji is not keeping well, and that makes me very emotional. Some of the most romantic songs of my career have been with Alka ji, and her brilliance as a singer needs no introduction. I sincerely hope she recovers soon and returns to join us in front of all of you once again.”

He added that listening to the song brought back memories of their time together and how they recorded it. To pay tribute to his longtime partner, he sang a few lines of the track.

The upcoming episode also features performances by contestants Durgesh Yadav, Mir Zulfikar, and Kadamb Chauhan, alongside host Shreyas Talpade.
