Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani discussed the impact of recreated songs, revealing that Shobha Kapoor made an extra Rs. 25 crores due to ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ in the film Crew.

Ramesh Taurani and Kumar Taurani recently spoke about remixes and recreated versions of old songs, sharing their perspectives on why classic tracks continue to succeed when presented in new formats.

Kumar Taurani stated that every film should have recreated songs, pointing out that classic tracks carry a strong legacy and recall value. According to Taurani, while songs usually receive around 20,000 streams, recreated versions see streams jump into the millions, which also benefits the original versions. He cited examples including 'Chunari Chunari', 'Chamma Chamma', and 'Aankhon Se Tune 2.0'.

Discussing the 2024 film Crew, Ramesh Taurani noted that songs like 'Naina' and 'Choli Ke Peeche' became famous, with the signature hook of 'Choli Ke Peeche' utilized in the background score. Following this, Kumar Taurani revealed that Shobha Kapoor personally told him she made an extra Rs. 25 crores due to 'Choli Ke Peeche'.

Ramesh Taurani also mentioned the film Dhurandhar as another example, noting that it incorporated several recreated old songs such as 'Tamma Tamma', 'Hum Pyaar Karne Waale', and 'Na Toh Karvaan Ki Talaash Hai', which were woven into the narrative to enhance scene impact. Kumar Taurani added that audiences enjoy these tracks more because they are already familiar with the music.
