Lionel Richie Hospitalized Again Following Heart Issue and Tour Cancellations

Grammy-winning singer Lionel Richie has been hospitalized once again following another heart issue, coming just days after he was discharged from the ICU. Richie previously sparked health concerns when he was hospitalized following his August 29, 2026, concert in St. Louis.

Due to the latest health scare, Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire have canceled three upcoming shows for the Sing a Song All Night Long tour. The affected performances were scheduled for September 26, 2026, in San Francisco; September 30, 2026, in Chicago; and October 2, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Sources with direct knowledge of the situation reported to TMZ that Richie is receiving treatment in the hospital for atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heartbeat. Doctors are treating him using AFib ablation, a procedure that is not considered major.
