What is Bethlehem Kudumba Unit about?

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit follows an unusual relationship with a large age gap and explores whether two people should be allowed to choose their own future despite opposition from their families. The story centres around Justin and Ashley and how they become emotionally attached despite the odds and reasons why they should not fall for each other.

The film begins with Ashley on the final day of school, setting an emotional note as she is extremely close with her classmates, who gift her a guitar as a farewell present because she loves music. On the family side, she lives with her mother, father, and brother. Her mother supports the family, while her father is an alcoholic who sees Ashley's belongings as a means to get more liquor.
