Man Mauled to Death by Siberian Tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park
A man believed to be in his 20s was mauled to death after entering a tiger enclosure and being attacked by a 30-stone Siberian tiger named Altai at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on October 10, 2026. Following the incident, Tiger King star Carole Baskin pleaded with authorities not to euthanize the tiger.
A report has since surfaced claiming that the man made a 'bad' sign prior to the attack. During the incident, the man appeared to make a fist and wag his little finger. This hand gesture sparked online speculation, with users on X claiming he used the Makaton technique—a language system using hand gestures, pictures, and speech—to try to communicate with the tiger.
