Michael Douglas Confirms Affair With Kathleen Turner and Discusses Past Marriage

Michael Douglas recently confirmed that he and Kathleen Turner had a secret affair while shooting Romancing the Stone. Although Kathleen previously denied being in a relationship with the actor, Douglas shared in his memoir that this was untrue.

At the time, Michael and his now ex-wife, Diandra Luker, were technically married but separated, with Douglas stating they were having respective extramarital affairs. While Michael and Kathleen were growing closer, Diandra visited the film set and confronted Kathleen, asserting that Michael should not be considered available. Consequently, Kathleen distanced herself from Douglas and remained silent about the affair for years. Michael and Diandra eventually parted ways, and following a USD 45 million divorce settlement, Diandra claimed half of Michael's earnings from a particular film.

Michael and Diandra originally met when she was a 19-year-old student at Georgetown's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and Michael was 32. He proposed to her after dating for two weeks.
