Money Money Money: An Interactive Play Exploring Wealth Culture in Arunachal Pradesh

Money Money Money

Set in the rapidly changing social landscape of Arunachal Pradesh, the interactive play Money Money Money draws audiences into everyday situations where family conversations, village life, and election dynamics subtly expose how money increasingly shapes values and decisions. Inspired by real-life scenarios, the performance reflects the influence of money culture on relationships, development choices, and personal aspirations.

The play features a unique participatory format where the audience actively engages, questions, and alters scenes in real time. Blending humour with introspection, it invites viewers to reflect on society's growing obsession with wealth and its impact on moral values.

Director

The production is directed by Rili Ngomle, a theatre director, actor trainer, and facilitator from Arunachal Pradesh who works across India on projects, workshops, and collaborations. Trained in Design & Direction and Theatre in Education, Ngomle is committed to inclusive theatre-making with extensive experience working with children and differently-abled individuals.

Group

The play is presented by the Roots Art and Cultural Trust, an organization dedicated to nurturing and promoting artistic endeavors in Arunachal and beyond. Roots Arunachal also organizes the Arunachal Rang Mahotsav, the largest international theatre festival in the Northeast.
