Nana Patekar Previously Explained Why Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss Never Released

Veteran actor Nana Patekar once explained that greed from producers and the economic recession prevented his unreleased film Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss from ever coming out.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar previously revealed the reasons behind the shelving of the unreleased film Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss. Directed by Rakesh Sarang and shot in 2008, the movie also starred Muzammil Ibrahim and Rimi Sen.

During a February 2015 group interview published in Trade Guide magazine, Patekar explained that the film failed to release because the producers continuously increased their financial demands. He stated, “Some time back, the producers, after spending Rs. 8-10 crores on the film, were getting Rs. 18 crores from the distributors. But they didn’t sell it as they wanted more. When they were getting Rs. 20 crores, they said they want Rs. 22 crores. And even when they were getting Rs. 22 crores, they wanted Rs. 25 crores.”

According to Patekar, the subsequent recession sealed the fate of the project. “Then the recession arrived and after that nobody was willing to buy it even for Rs. 10 crores,” he added.

Patekar also disclosed that the makers had not paid him in full, noting, “They recently said that they will pay me later. I said, ‘I want my money now as I have to pay income tax’.”

Horn ‘OK’ Pleassss was produced under the banners of Sarang Films and Sunrise Pictures.
