Netflix Reveals Meeting Room Named After Radhika Apte at Akka Trailer Launch

Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte attended the Mumbai trailer launch of their upcoming show Akka, alongside director Dharmaraj Shetty, YRF Executive Producer Yogendra Mogre, and Netflix India Series Head Tanya Bami. The event marked Radhika Apte's return to Netflix.

Addressing the running internet joke about her frequent appearances in Netflix titles, Radhika said, "It's homecoming! On a serious note, I genuinely feel at home. There was a time when people would ask whether I hold any shares! In the beginning, people did ask me that question, 'Do you hold shares?'. I was like, 'Of course I don't hold shares on Netflix'. But people don't believe me and they say 'You do'." Keerthy Suresh suggested she should claim to own shares, to which Radhika joked that she should say, "I own it!"

During the event, Tanya Bami revealed, "I am sure you know that the meeting rooms in our office are named after our shows. But one room is named after Radhika!"

Radhika confirmed the detail, stating, "Yes, there is! I was very proud. I went there and they told me, 'Come, come, see' and I saw names of other actors as well. I asked 'Why are their names there?'! I am kidding. But there's a room in my name. It was very nice. I sat in there to discuss something once."

Akka marks Radhika Apte's sixth title on Netflix, following previous collaborations including Lust Stories, Raat Akeli Hai, Monica O My Darling, and Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, in addition to several theatrical releases finding a home on the platform.

Akka releases on October 30.
