Netflix's Unabomber Examines Ted Kaczynski's Harvard Years and Henry Murray's Experiments

Netflix Film Revisits Ted Kaczynski's Harvard Experiments

Netflix's new movie, Unabomber, takes viewers back to the early years of Ted Kaczynski before he became known as the 'Unabomber', exploring how a mathematics professor descended into domestic terrorism. The psychological experiments he participated in at Harvard are central to the film, although no direct link to his later crimes was ever established.

The film features Jacob Tremblay as a young Ted Kaczynski and Russell Crowe as Harvard psychologist Henry Murray. While the movie dramatizes their relationship, the Harvard experiments were real. Kaczynski entered Harvard at the age of 16 in 1958 and took part in Murray's study from 1959 to 1962.

In later years, Kaczynski recalled the experience as one of the most disturbing periods of his life.
