New Details Emerge in the Trial

Amber O'Brien was found dead on the bathroom floor of her partner Stephan Garner's flat in Blackley, north Manchester. The couple, who were reportedly in a relationship for three months, were expecting twins. Amber reportedly died on April 18, 2026, and Stephan was arrested and charged with murder a day later.

Stephan Garner, who is 31 years old, has admitted to killing Amber but denied the murder charges, pleading guilty to manslaughter instead. During the trial, which opened in Manchester Crown Court in October 2026, prosecutors revealed that Amber was stabbed in the early hours of April 18, 2026. According to prosecutors, Stephan spent the day after killing Amber trying to get rid of the evidence. Court revelations also showed that Amber suffered at least 32 wounds around her face and neck.
