Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Karan Tacker, Bobby Deol and Jitendra Kumar: The OTT Stars Whose Shows Keep Coming Back

In the expanding streaming landscape, longevity has become an important part of the conversation for actors. When a show returns for a second, third, or fourth season, the actors at its centre get the opportunity to build a lasting association with their characters and turn them into franchises. Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Karan Tacker, Bobby Deol, and Jitendra Kumar are among the actors who have benefited from this franchise-driven OTT ecosystem.

Pankaj Tripathi: Mirzapur and Criminal Justice

Pankaj Tripathi's Kaleen Bhaiya has become one of the most recognisable characters to emerge from Indian OTT, with Mirzapur completing three seasons and expanding to the big screen with Mirzapur: The Movie. Additionally, Tripathi is closely associated with the Criminal Justice franchise as Madhav Mishra, giving him another recurring OTT character spanning multiple seasons.

Manoj Bajpayee: The Family Man

Manoj Bajpayee's character Srikant Tiwari has become synonymous with Indian OTT. The Family Man has returned for three seasons, allowing Bajpayee to lead the series as an intelligence officer balancing professional life with family responsibilities over several years.

Karan Tacker: From Special Ops to Bhay Season 2

Karan Tacker's OTT journey includes playing Farooq Ali in Special Ops and heading into Bhay Season 2 as paranormal investigator and real-life figure Gaurav Tiwari. The upcoming second season gives Tacker another opportunity to return to an established character and continue a story that has already found an audience.

Bobby Deol: Aashram

Bobby Deol's OTT resurgence is closely linked to Aashram. His portrayal of Baba Nirala became one of the defining digital roles of his career, allowing audiences to follow the character across multiple seasons.

Jitendra Kumar: Panchayat

Jitendra Kumar plays Abhishek Tripathi, popularly known as Sachiv Ji, in Panchayat. With the show completing four seasons, Kumar remains at the centre of the story as a young government employee navigating life in Phulera.

The Franchise Advantage

As platforms invest in stories that return season after season, these actors represent a growing category of OTT performers whose careers are shaped by audiences keeping coming back for the characters they play.
