Producer Ashi Dua Shares Insights on Lust Stories 3 Directors

The third instalment of the Lust Stories franchise brings together four filmmakers: Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj. Each director has directed a segment in the anthology, exploring relationships, intimacy, and desire.

Producer Ashi Dua discussed the creative process and how each director approached the project.

Vikramaditya Motwane's Segment

Ashi described Vikramaditya Motwane as one of the finest filmmakers and noted that he considered multiple ideas before settling on his final story. She praised his casting choices, bringing together Konkona Sen Sharma and Radhika Apte.

Kiran Rao's Surprise Element

According to Ashi, Kiran Rao was the only filmmaker whose first idea was immediately loved by the entire team. While the team expected something more serious, Rao delivered a mainstream, commercial, and fun story with thriller elements, co-written and produced with Tanaji Dasgupta.

Collaborating with Vishal Bhardwaj

Working with veteran filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj involved considerable back-and-forth on story ideas. Ashi praised Bhardwaj as a sport who is open to feedback and listens to notes from others.

Shakun Batra's Relationship Drama

Shakun Batra developed two scripts before settling on a relationship drama for the anthology. Ashi praised Batra's sensitivity with storytelling, characters, and relationships, noting that he elevated the final story on screen beyond the initial script.
