Raghubir Yadav Calls Playing Evil Godman in Hunkkaar 'Very Painful'

Veteran actor Raghubir Yadav, widely known for playing likeable characters such as Pradhan ji in the web show Panchayat, has surprised audiences by playing an evil Godman named Baapji in the web series Hunkkaar – The Roar.

Speaking about the role, Yadav explained that he chose the character because it was the complete opposite of his own thoughts, life, and ideologies. He noted that it is important to sometimes play characters that are completely different from oneself in order to experience that feeling.

Yadav admitted that playing the role came with extreme challenges, describing the experience as "very painful." However, he added that experiencing pain as an artiste offers a different kind of experience and reflects what life actually is.

Regarding his career spanning over four decades, Yadav stated that his selection criteria focuses on roles he has never done before that challenge him and give him sleepless nights. Reflecting on his journey, he shared that he simply kept learning and having fun rather than focusing on reaching a specific goal.

Hunkkaar – The Roar also stars Aneet Padda, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rajesh Sharma, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and is currently streaming on JioHotstar.
