Rajkummar Rao Discusses Working With FTII Batchmate Jaideep Ahlawat in Prahaar

Rajkummar Rao has opened up about his longstanding camaraderie with Jaideep Ahlawat for their upcoming film Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam. The two actors, along with director Avinash Arun Dhaware, share a history from their days at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

Speaking about working with Ahlawat, Rao stated that they share a comfort zone due to spending many years together as classmates, noting that Ahlawat is a phenomenal actor and their director was a junior at the institute.

Director Avinash Arun Dhaware expressed excitement about bringing Rao and Ahlawat together for the project, noting his long-standing friendship with Rao from their institute days. The film also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Sikandar Kher, Tarun Sharma, and Lalit Prabhakar in its cast.

Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam focuses on the story surrounding one of India’s significant legal battles following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Produced by Maddock Films, the movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16, 2026.
