Rashami Desai Discusses Her Television Return and Career Challenges

Rashami Desai has made her return to television in Star Plus’ Sayonee following a multi-year break from the small screen. In a recent interview, the actor discussed her choice to step away from daily soaps, the obstacles she encountered in the entertainment industry, and remarks from individuals who told her that her career was over.

Reflecting on her hiatus, Rashami explained that she consciously stepped back to focus on herself, unlearn habits, and explore other projects, including a Gujarati film and the Zee5 film Hisaab Barabar. Though she received television offers during this time, she did not feel ready or able to connect with them.

Rashami also addressed online trolling, stating that she stopped reading social media comments and highlighted the damaging effects of online abuse. Furthermore, she spoke about gender stereotyping in the industry, noting that female actors are frequently judged by their glamour rather than their talent, and discussed being generalized as an overexposed television actor.
