Reporting Live Follows Journalist Investigating Bridge Collapse and Sand Mafia

In Reporting Live, journalist Sandhya Yadav investigates a tragic bridge collapse in Visargaon that leads to the exposure of illegal sand mining.

Reporting Live: Story of a Fearless Journalist

REPORTING LIVE follows the story of Sandhya Yadav (Parineeti Chopra), a fearless reporter for the Mumbai-based news channel Azaad Bharati, along with her cameraman and best friend Vinod Sharma (Deven Bhojani).

Sandhya is sent to cover a bridge collapse in the village of Visargaon in Maharashtra, an incident where a school bus was on the bridge, resulting in the deaths of 14 children. While covering the tragedy, Sandhya encounters varying claims about the cause: villagers and a local minister attribute the collapse to a solar eclipse, whereas Shiva (Amol Palekar) and Mangesh (Pitobash Tripathy) allege that government inaction was to blame.

Upon approaching Shiva and Mangesh, Sandhya learns that the collapse was actually caused by illegal sand mining in the region, which weakened the bridge's foundation through the excessive removal of sand. Despite receiving threats from sand mafia goons, Sandhya and Vinod collect evidence and submit their report to Azaad Bharati channel heads Vidur Dutt (Adil Hussain) and Shyam (Shekhar Suman). Impressed, the channel airs the exclusive report, which compels the police to arrest those involved in illegal sand mining.

However, within days, the illegal activity resumes, and Shyam faces pressure to take down the story, setting up the remainder of the film's events.
