Revathy Wins Best Actor for Aasmani at IFFSA Toronto

Veteran actress Revathy has won the Best Actor (International Short) award for her performance in Sayani Gupta's directorial debut Aasmani at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) in Toronto.

In the film, Revathy portrays Asha, a grandmother whose emotional bond with her granddaughter and a vintage powder blue Fiat forms the core of the story. The win coincides with Sayani Gupta serving as Guest of Honour and receiving the South Asian Screen Excellence Award at the same festival.

Writing and directing her first film, Sayani made the bold choice to cast Revathy, a decision validated by international juries and audiences. Aasmani has previously played at 12 festivals in two months and is scheduled to screen at the LA Femme International Film Festival, the 55th Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, the 15th Dharamshala International Film Festival, and the 30th Vancouver Asian Film Festival, with additional selections planned through March 2027.
