Saira Banu Remembers Nana Patekar With Dilip Kumar Anecdote Following His Passing

Veteran actress Saira Banu paid tribute to Nana Patekar following his demise, sharing a heartwarming memory involving the late actor and her husband, the legendary Dilip Kumar.

In a social media post, Saira Banu recalled an incident after Patekar received the Best Actor award for Krantiveer. Dilip Kumar invited Patekar to their home in Pali Hill. Heavy rain soaked Patekar on his way, and upon his arrival, Dilip Kumar welcomed him with a towel and a fresh shirt.

Reflecting on the gesture, Saira Banu wrote about the profound humanity of the moment. She shared that Patekar later remarked on the experience, asking what greater award a person could receive than the love and respect of someone they deeply admired.

Nana Patekar passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 75 at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, following a cardiac arrest. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the news. Patekar was a recipient of the Padma Shri and was widely recognized for his acclaimed work in Hindi and Marathi cinema, including his role in Krantiveer.
