Shefali Shah Admits Releasing Her Debut Book Is More Frightening Than a Film Release
Actor Shefali Shah discusses the release of her debut book, The Audacity of Being: A Sort-of Memoir, published by Bloomsbury, admitting that putting her writing out for readers brings entirely new responsibilities and fears compared to acting.
Actor Shefali Shah has revealed that releasing her debut book, The Audacity of Being: A Sort-of Memoir, is far more frightening than releasing a film. Published by Bloomsbury, the book offers a glimpse into her thoughts and experiences.
When discussing the uncertainty surrounding her first book, Shefali noted that the responsibility rests entirely on her shoulders. “There is no producer, director. There is nobody else who's going to take responsibility for this book. And it's my first,” she said.
As writing is unfamiliar territory compared to her extensive acting career, Shefali stated that readers' reactions will ultimately determine how she views her new role as an author. Despite her nerves, she promises readers that the book is a fun read, describing it as “about something and nothing and everything that's in between.”
During the conversation, Shefali also shared a lighter personal detail, explaining how much a good hair day boosts her confidence, noting that styled hair makes her feel like she has arrived regardless of her outfit or makeup.
