Shriya Saran Reveals She Shot Drishyam The Conclusion While Her Father Underwent Spine Surgery

The Hindi Drishyam trilogy concluded with the release of its final instalment on October 2, 2026. Shriya Saran, who plays Nandini, the wife of lead character Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay Devgn), reflected on the emotional challenges of shooting the final chapter after an 11-year journey.

In an interview, Shriya recalled becoming tearful on the final day of the shoot as the cast realized they would never return to the franchise. However, the farewell was compounded by a severe personal crisis.

During the filming of a major courtroom scene, Shriya learned that her father required spine surgery and was unable to walk. While performing, she was simultaneously attempting to schedule doctor appointments and coordinate hospital care for him.

The situation intensified when her father's operation was scheduled for the exact day the production was filming a scene that could not be canceled due to strict permissions. According to Shriya, her father encouraged her to continue working while he went into the operating theatre.

Reflecting on the dual pressures, Shriya noted that saying goodbye to an 11-year franchise while navigating her father's health emergency made the final instalment exceptionally difficult on both personal and professional levels.
