South Indian film industry couple Suriya and Jyotika celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on September 11, 2026, by renewing their marriage vows in an intimate Christian ceremony. Jyotika shared a video of the celebration on Instagram titled 'The Sequel.' Following this, Suriya's father, Sivakumar, spoke fondly about the couple.
Sivakumar Discusses Suriya and Jyotika
During the red carpet of the JFW Favourites Awards 2026, Sivakumar stated that Suriya waited for four years to marry Jyotika. Sivakumar noted that true love does not happen to everyone, and Suriya was adamant about only marrying Jyotika.
Sivakumar recalled a conversation where his wife asked Suriya why he was not falling in love, to which Suriya replied that one cannot fall in love with just any girl. Suriya subsequently fell in love with Jyotika, a girl from Bombay (now Mumbai).
