Sona Mohapatra Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over Himachal Pradesh Governance

Sona Mohapatra Questions Rahul Gandhi on Himachal Pradesh

Singer Sona Mohapatra has questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks concerning democracy and the BJP-led government, urging him to prioritize governance in Himachal Pradesh before speaking about repairing democracy.

Writing on X, Mohapatra stated she was shocked by the condition of the state after returning following a nine-year absence. She reported seeing garbage-strewn hills and rivers affected by pollution, calling on the Congress party to make the state a model of good governance and to earn the people's mandate rather than just demanding it.

Context of the Remarks

Mohapatra's post followed comments made by Rahul Gandhi regarding the Chief Election Commissioner and the BJP-led government, where the Congress leader suggested that changes in leadership would pave the way for alterations in the country's democratic system.

In response, Mohapatra shifted attention to the Congress-governed state of Himachal Pradesh, emphasizing local civic conditions and governance based on her recent observations.
