Suriya's Father Recalls Actor Waiting Four Years to Marry Jyotika

Tamil film duo Suriya and Jyotika recently completed 20 years of marriage and renewed their vows in an intimate Christian ceremony. Jyothika was born into a Punjabi family from Mumbai, while Suriya is the son of veteran Tamil actor Sivakumar. When the two decided to marry, both of their families objected. Neither family was keen on the alliance, and the couple made it clear they would rather remain single.
During the recent JFW Favorites Awards, Suriya’s father, Sivakumar, recalled what the actor told his mother when she asked him why he had not fallen in love, noting that Suriya waited for four years to marry Jyotika.
