Swara Bhasker Recalls Disturbing Experience With Filmmaker on Past Project

Swara Bhasker, a participant on Rise and Fall Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video and MX Player, recently opened up about a disturbing experience she faced after being signed as the leading lady of a film following her work in Tanu Weds Manu.

Speaking to fellow contestants on the reality show, Swara recalled that she was signed for a project requiring a 56-day shooting schedule. She alleged that the filmmaker initially sent her poetry about her appearance after telling her that directors must love their actors. She stated she was polite about the messages initially.

Swara then recounted an incident regarding a romantic scene she was supposed to perform with the film's leading man. According to the actress, the director insisted on rehearsing the scene privately with her first. She refused this and requested that the actor and cameraperson be present, noting she was the only woman at the guesthouse where they were staying.

Later, Swara said she saw the director and cinematographer drinking at the guesthouse with a half-empty bottle. Questioning the situation of being asked to rehearse alone with them, she stated she felt frightened and left the place as soon as possible.

The actress further alleged that the filmmaker repeatedly knocked on her door at night. When she opened it, she stated he was swaying, slurring his words, and asking her for a hug. Swara recounted telling him to his face that he was scaring her, adding that she felt helpless because he was the director of the film.
