Tanushree Dutta Shares Reaction Following the Death of Nana Patekar at Age 75

Following the death of veteran actor and Padma Shri recipient Nana Patekar at the age of 75 on Thursday, October 8, 2026, actress Tanushree Dutta has shared her initial response in a social media video.

Dutta stated that she heard the news on a work day while traveling to Lucknow for an event. She noted that she would provide a full reaction once she determines what kind of response to have, while also offering condolences to the family.

Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where he was declared dead at approximately 5:20 AM IST. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the news.

Patekar and Dutta were previously linked by a 2018 controversy involving allegations from the 2008 film shoot of Horn 'Ok' Pleassss, which Patekar and the filmmakers denied. The Mumbai Police filed a B-Summary report in June 2019 citing no prima facie evidence, and an Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate court disposed of the case in March 2025. Dutta has maintained that she stands by her account.
