Tara Sutaria Discusses Etiquette and Good Manners on Fashionably Pernia

Tara Sutaria recently discussed the foundational values of social grace, personal presentation, and basic manners during her appearance on the show Fashionably Pernia.

Host Pernia Qureshi brought up Tara’s upbringing, noting that her mother was an etiquette coach, and asked her to share valuable lessons on good manners. Tara emphasized that etiquette is fundamentally rooted in empathy and consideration for others rather than rigid formalities, stating, “Etiquette is thoughtfulness.”

Discussing body language and physical habits, Tara demonstrated improper posture and remarked that having a foot pointing toward another person is considered inelegant and rude. Moving on to dining decorum, she pointed out common table mistakes, noting that putting elbows on the table is messy and increases the likelihood of dropping something.

Tara also highlighted the significance of non-verbal cues and social interactions, stating that eye contact is very important and that touching another person should be done gently yet with a slight firmness to show confidence. Concluding her thoughts, she underscored communication and warmth:

“The tone of your voice, how you make another person feel, I think that is what etiquette is all about. It’s simple, but I think we complicate it sometimes.”

She also shared her take on hosting and meaningful gatherings at home, noting that they do not have to be fancy and that the best moments involve simple conversation.
