Tara Sutaria Opens Up About Her Childhood and Upbringing on Fashionably Pernia

During a recent appearance on Fashionably Pernia, actor Tara Sutaria opened up about her personal life and childhood, discussing how her parents raised her and her sister. According to Tara, her parents made a conscious effort to treat both daughters as equals from an early age and gave importance to their opinions.

Reflecting on her upbringing, Tara stated, "My mom and dad kind of always treated my sister and me like we were equals. We were kind of treated like adults when we were kids, and our opinions always mattered." She believes that allowing children to feel heard builds lasting confidence and a stronger sense of self.

Tara also noted that this environment extended to how disagreements were handled at home. She shared, "We also enjoy arguing, which I think sometimes families feel… out of respect, kids might not feel comfortable having a healthy argument. Like our family loves to agree to disagree. And I love that about our family." Openly disagreeing, she suggested, brings maturity, confidence, and adds to one's sense of self.

On the work front, Tara was most recently seen in the pan-India action film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, which was released theatrically on August 26, 2026. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and led by Yash, the Kannada-English bilingual film features Tara as Rebecca Almeida alongside a cast that includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth. As of now, no new feature film has been officially announced as her next project.
