The Vvaan Review: Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia Star in Folk Horror Film
A review of the fantasy thriller The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, starring Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra.
The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest is a fantasy thriller released in theatres on September 25, 2026. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, the film features Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles as 'Rishi' and 'Mamta'.
The mytho-horror is set in Devanchal during Chhath Puja and blends folklore, faith, and modern ambition. It follows Rishi and Mamta as they return to a village guarded by Van Devi and a forest that remains untouched after dark.
According to the review, the film features atmosphere, strong cultural texture, and sincere performances, though it struggles to balance mystery with spectacle. It attempts to deliver an eerie folk tale, but often leans toward explanation rather than dread.
