Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh Says Weak Writing Caused Toxic to Fail, Praises Yash's Performance
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh attributes the failure of Toxic to weak writing, while praising Yash's performance, technical aspects, and the cast.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has stated that weak writing was the main reason the film Toxic did not work. Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, Adarsh praised the technical finish of the film and the performances of the cast while pointing to the screenplay as its biggest weakness.
Addressing why the film failed to connect, Adarsh said that a promising concept on paper does not always translate into a convincing theatrical experience for audiences. He stated that he did not like the film, reiterating that the writing was the primary issue.
Despite the film's outcome, Adarsh praised Yash, who played a double role, calling him a very confident and fine actor who did a very good job. He noted that even with a good idea, the results are limited when the written material is weak.
Adarsh also highlighted the film's strengths, describing the visuals and technical aspects as brilliant. He praised Kiara Advani and Nayanthara for their work, while noting that Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth could have had better-developed roles.
Additionally, Adarsh commented on online negativity, noting that when a film does not work, the effort behind it gets diluted by social media negativity, which cannot be controlled.
