Writer Aamil Keeyan Khan Recalls Akshaye Khanna Walking Out of Drishyam The Conclusion
Writer Aamil Keeyan Khan discussed Akshaye Khanna walking out of Drishyam The Conclusion seven days before filming, forcing the team to make rapid script changes before Jaideep Ahlawat stepped in.
Akshaye Khanna's Last-Minute Departure
Before Drishyam The Conclusion went on floors, Akshaye Khanna walked out of the film seven days before the shoot was scheduled to begin. Dialogues, screenplay writer, and lyricist Aamil Keeyan Khan described the moment as a bomb dropping on the team, noting that everyone's dates were locked and a new character had to be introduced under extreme time constraints.
The creative team had to alter multiple scenes across both the first and second halves of the film without lengthening the narrative. To address the change organically, the writers established at the beginning of the movie that IG Tarun Ahlawat was no longer handling the case and that Rajveer Singh Tomar of the Crime Branch, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, had taken over.
Praise for Director Abhishek Pathak
Aamil Keeyan Khan commended director and producer Abhishek Pathak for remaining calm during the crisis, noting that any other director would have panicked and postponed the film. Khan emphasized that delaying the production would have severely impacted the livelihoods of crew members, including spot boys, dadas, and lightmen, whose work depended on the shoot starting on time.
