Yami Gautam Addresses Oscar Question and National Award Impact at Nayyi Navelli Trailer Launch
Yami Gautam discussed her National Award win and responded to questions about the Oscars during the trailer launch of her upcoming film Nayyi Navelli in Mumbai.
Yami Gautam, alongside Adinath Kothare, Sushmita Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht, producers Nikhil Madhok, Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, and director Balaji Mohan, attended the trailer launch of Nayyi Navelli at a multiplex in Mumbai.
The event marked Yami's first major public appearance following her National Award win. When asked if she felt a greater sense of responsibility, she responded affirmatively, stating that the National Film Award is a significant honor and a true validation for artists across all languages and formats in the country.
Addressing whether she is aiming for an Oscar next, Yami stated, "Aapke sapne sirf aapko aur aapke mann ko pata hona chahiye. Otherwise, I don’t like to share much. I believe in my work. When work is your expression, then you don’t need to say much."
She also spoke about remaining grounded, noting that humility is within a person's control and makes someone more memorable than anything else.
Nayyi Navelli is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16.
